A T-shirt controversy in St. Johns County has prompted critics to question the actions of Sheriff David Shoar.

The controversy began when the sheriff donated several T-shirts at a gathering of military veterans. However, the slogan on the shirts upset some anti-war protesters.Mary Lawrence won a shirt at the event, but she said she was upset by its message.

Laws designed to stop anti-Catholic protesters 'annoying' pilgrims at World Youth Day have had an unexpected side-effect: an increase in sales of 'design-it-yourself' t-shirts.

The controversial new legislation gives police and other 'authorised people' the power to demand that others stop causing "annoyance or inconvenience" to pilgrims at this month's event in Sydney.

Saginaw County sheriff's deputies tried to deny a campaign manager for sheriff candidate William L. Federspiel access to a county building because he wore a campaign T-shirt.

Robert X. Karl, Federspiel's campaign manager, entered the Governmental Center at 111 S. Michigan on Thursday wearing a red and white T-shirt bearing a message to elect Federspiel sheriff. Federspiel is challenging Sheriff Charles L. Brown in the Tuesday, Aug. 5, Democratic primary.

A GOLD Coast teenager who wore a T-shirt by English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth that reads 'Jesus is a c**t' has been charged with offensive behaviour.

Above the offensive slogan a nun is depicted masturbating.

A 16-year-old was arrested on Monday for wearing the shirt and was charged with offensive behaviour under the Summary Offences Act 2005 for public nuisance.

Jessica Simpson Pisses Off PETA with Shirt

Jessica Simpson wore a shirt with the text "Real Girls Eat Meat" on the front and offends PETA's pussies.

Simpson family insiders reportedly told OK! magazine that the shirt is a dig at her boyfriend Tony Romo's ex-girlfriend, country superstar Carrie Underwood — who doesn't eat meat. PETA twice has named Underwood the "World's Sexiest Vegetarian."

Ironic how she wore that shirt while being known as a piece of meat herself.

Urban Outfitters Shirt Pisses Jews Off...Again.

They're pissed about selling a shirt which has Palestinian gunmen (14 year old gunmen) a Palistinian flag and a dove over the word "victim".

FTA: This isn't the first time the fashion retailer has caused controversy amoungst the Jewish community. A few years ago they sold T-shirts with the slogan "Everybody Loves a Jewish Girl," surrounded by dollar signs and shopping bags.

Then again in 2007 they angered Jewish leaders by selling versions of a traditional Arab headdress, the kaffiyeh.

Students suspended for Senior Class Shirts

The shirts were interpreted as promoting underage drinking. 45 students were suspended and my not be able to attend their Prom.

The controversy is over a T-shirt that read "Puschin' it to the Limit" and on the back reads "Class of .08 Seniors."

Some believe the T-shirt alludes to drinking and driving and sends the wrong message, possibly encouraging classmates to take a dangerous risk.

School officials said 45 seniors were suspended for wearing the shirt, which was designed by one of their classmates.

A bar owner just outside of Antlanta, Georgia has created shirts with a monkey peeling a banana and the text - Obama 08'. Huge controversy but it may result in the seller getting sued.

 

FTA: The publisher of the popular children book's series "Curious George" is considering legal action against a Georgia bar owner for selling T-shirts that link Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama to the inquisitive monkey.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is upset with Mike Norman, owner of a Marietta, Ga., bar, for selling the shirts which show Curious George peeling a banana with "Obama in '08" printed beneath the image.

Student can "Be Happy Not Gay" at school in their shirt says US Courts

The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Wednesday that Alexander Nuxoll has a 1st Amendment right to wear the T-shirt, which reads "Be Happy, Not Gay." That right, according to the ruling, supersedes Indian Prairie District 204's desire to limit disruptions that might be caused by the student wearing it.

The court also ordered the district not to discipline Nuxoll for wearing the shirt to school, which he intends to do Monday, said Nate Kellum, senior counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, which litigates on behalf of Christian causes.
